Eco Ethic
What is this label for?
Eco Ethic is specifically for Companies who wish to apply for a rating for their company.
Who can apply?
Any company offering any service, product or material.
What is required?
The applicant must be able to prove that their company is ‘green’. Information regarding the management systems, inputs, throughputs and outputs of the operation of the company will be required. This will include information regarding energy, water and waste consumption, staff training, company vision and policies.
What are the criteria used to assess the Company?
This will involve whether the company has an environmental working ethic throughout their business model. This can be demonstrated via an environmental management system (e.g. certified ISOl400l:2004 or an in house system). Proof of the functioning of this system would be required. A further example would be whether the company has measured their water, energy / carbon and waste footprints; or whether staff are trained in terms of environmental awareness. These types of initiatives would show that the company has embarked on a process to improve the company as a whole.
